Centre of Excellence at Mumbai

The Mumbai Centre of GAF is located at the District Sports Complex at Dharavi. The Centre is in partnership with the DSO, Government of Maharashtra.
The Centre has a 25m pool with state of the art water filtration facilities. In addition to the pool the centre features a well equipped gymnasium with high qualified trainers for Dry Land training.
Peter Gartrell, a world renowned coach  heads the Program as the technical director. Peter Carswell who has coached Olympic medalists is the head coach. Bushan Kumar ( ASCA level 5 coach), Smita Divgikar (Arjuna Awardee in Swimming), Komal Athare and Satish Kumar (both experienced National Champions) complete the coaching faculty.  For details of coaches please click here.
The Centre operates through the year and admits swimmers above 6 years of age. The swimmers are distributed across the program based on age and prowess. The program is structured to be progressive allowing the swimmer to mature with time.
In addition to competitive swimmers GAF also conducts Summer and Winter camps for kids who wish to learn swimming.
For Adults there are batches in the morning and evening for lap swimmers. A special ladies batch is also slotted for the afternoon.

GAF collaboration with National Swimming Academy

The second centre of GAF was established in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India at Delhi. The SAI Glenmark Talent Identification Development and Management Program (SGTIDM) is an elite residential program for fast tracking swimmers to attain International glory.
Located at the Dr SPM Swimming Complex Talkaotra stadium New Delhi, The SGTIDM program is a partnership between GAF and SAI wherein GAF provides all the technical support and SAI provides the infrastructural support to produce champions.
The program is completely residential and all training, equipment, boarding and lodging is provided by the program. The admissions to this program is on stipulated guidelines including timings and medical tests. The centre currently has 31 students. The admissions normally happen in July and details are put up by March.
The top swimmers are provided opportunities to compete at global events. In addition schooling facilities (both private and Government) are available.

Partnership with Swimming Federation of India

In order to achieve a transformation in the sport of swimming it is imperative for all stakeholders to join hands. With this perspective GAF has entered into a long term partnership with the Swimming Federation of India, the regulatory body for aquatic sports in India. As a part of the partnership GAF shall be the title sponsor of all the National meets held by SFI in the country. GAF shall put in efforts to improve the organization of the meets. In a first live streaming of the sub junior, Junior and Senior National aquatic championships in 2016 was facilitated by GAF. In addition to the sponsorship of the meets the partnership also entails cooperation in the fields of Coach Education, Talent Management, Coach Management, Swimming Camps and Data Management.

Coach Education

The Quality of talent produced in any country has a direct correlation with the quality of mentoring and training. GAF strongly believes that coaching standards in India need to be constantly updated for us to produce better swimmers. With this philosophy GAF has taken steps towards Coach Education in India. GAF has conducted 2 clinics for coaches in collaboration with American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) for Level 1,2, and 3 certification. In addition to these Clinics, GAF plans to hold clinics with experienced International coaches from time to time.
